General

Faculty colloquia are optional development events open to regular and adjunct faculty that will occur one or two times per semester and focus on diverse subject matter presented in a variety of formats.

Potential subject matter:

  • scholarship methods
  • faculty achievements
  • teaching initiatives and strategies for effective and intentional teaching
  • sabbatical reports
  • student issues
  • advising
  • technology initiatives
  • institutional change
  • integration of technology in the classroom/instructional technology
  • distance learning & hybridized classrooms
  • course design
  • evaluation of students
  • evaluation of teaching
  • my best class
  • evaluation and review process (organized specifically for faulty with upcoming reviews to assist in understanding process and preparing the dossier)
  • higher ed news/hot topic

 Potential formats:

  • formal presentations (individuals and in series, e.g., 15 minute sabbatical presentations or other big things)
  • Pecha Kucha
  • roundtable discussions; lunch & learns
